I might question the 3D look of the newly coloured regions in the Edit Window, which although done subtly, makes it difficult to see if there are fades at the boundaries when you're zoomed out. There's still a little way to go getting up to speed in the desktop music stakes, which should be taken care of when the Rewire update arrives. The state-of-the-art music production tool joins forces with the state-of-the-art computer OS, and gains some powerful new features along the way.
The upgrade also introduces powerful new project management features, Groove Template functionality and a more powerful LE version.
The major audio and MIDI recording applications are slowly migrating to Mac OS X, and the latest to arrive is Digidesign's Pro Tools.
